Section 1 — Short title.
(1) This Act may be called the Land Improvement Loans Act, 1883.
(2) Local extent. Commencement.—It extends to the whole of India except the territories which, immediately before the 1st November, 1956, were comprised in Part B States, but shall not come into force in any part of the territories to which this Act extends until such date as the State Government [Omitted] may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in this behalf.
