Section 26: Procedure for election of Up-Pradhan on the establishment of Gram Panchayat.

On the establishment of Gram Panchayat for the first time under this Act, or on its reconstitution or establishment under section 20, a meeting of the Gram Panchayat shall be called immediately by the prescribed officer who shall himself preside over the meeting, but shall have no right to vote, and in such meeting, the Up-Pradhan shall be elected.
