Section 6: Registrars and Sub-Registrars.
The State Government may appoint such persons, whether public officers or not, as it thinks proper, to be Registrars of the several districts, and to be Sub-Registrars of the several sub-districts, formed as aforesaid, respectively.
STATE AMENDMENT Karnataka Amendment of section 6.-In section 6 of the Registration Act, 1908 (Central Act 16 of 1908) the following provisos inserted, namely:- "Provided that the State Government may also appoint one or more Sub-Registrars for the same Sub-District:
Provided further that the State Government may delegate to the Inspector-General of Registration, the power of appointing Sub-Registrars." [Vide Karnataka Act 32 of 2001, s. 2] [Omitted]
