MANNER OF FILLING SEATS IN THE COUNCIL OF STATES TO BE FILLED BY REPRESENTATIVES OF UNION TERRITORIES

Section 27A: Constitution of electoral colleges for the filling of seats in the Council of States allotted to Union territories.

(1) For the purpose of filling any seat or seats in the Council of States allotted to any Union territory [Omitted] in the Fourth Schedule to the Constitution there shall be an electoral college for each such territory [Omitted] . STATE AMENDMENTS Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh (UTs).— Section 27A.— After sub-section (4), insert the following sub-section, namely:-

(5) The electoral college of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir shall consist of the elected members of the Legislative Assembly constituted for that territory under the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019 (34 of 2019).
