The paper diary had to go.
In 2023, our founder sat in a district court corridor in Delhi, watching a senior advocate frantically scroll WhatsApp trying to find a case number his clerk had sent him three days ago. The next date was in 20 minutes. The advocate didn't find it in time.
That moment crystallised what we already knew from practice: the Indian legal profession runs on institutional knowledge, personal relationships, and extraordinary dedication — but its tools are stuck in 1987.
We spent a year talking to advocates across Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata. Solo practitioners managing 80 cases. Firm partners with 12 associates and no visibility. Corporate legal heads receiving weekly PDFs as status updates from external counsel.
NyayX is what we built as a result. Not a generic case management tool repurposed for India — but a platform engineered from scratch around how Indian courts work: offline corridors, eCourts data, WhatsApp communication, and the specific hierarchy of Indian judicial institutions.
