The physical display boards at DHC
The Delhi High Court building has digital display screens at the entrance of each court corridor and in the main lobby. Each screen shows the court number, the current item number on the bench, and the case title being heard. The screens update as the court officer marks items. If you are waiting in the building, you watch these screens to judge when to walk in.
NyayX's digital display board
NyayX pulls the same live session data from the DHC eCourts system and shows it in the app. The Today's Board view lists your cases for the day with a live item counter. When a court is actively sitting, you can see whether your item is pending, currently being heard, or has already been passed over. Courts where live session data is not published by DHC show a static item count instead.
Court Mode: built for waiting inside the building
Court Mode is a full-screen layout designed for advocates who are physically inside the DHC complex. It tiles each of your courts into large cards, each showing the current item and a colour-coded status. When your case moves to 'in hearing', the card turns green. You can leave it open on your phone in the canteen or the advocate lounge and just glance across.
How live item tracking works
The DHC eCourts system publishes live session data for courts where the court officer records proceedings digitally. NyayX polls this every 30 seconds when the Today's Board is open. The phase indicators (pending, in hearing, passed over, concluded) are parsed from the eCourts feed. If your case is passed over, NyayX shows that so you know to check with the reader before the court rises.
